I, Rachel, am a big fan of puzzles, particularly wooden puzzles. The pieces are solid, have a weight to hold on to, and when I rub the edges I "see" with both my eyes and my hands. I like the unique cuts, with some pieces following a theme: cats or plants or bathtub toys. Puzzles remind me that there are so many ways to look and see, to turn things around, to try and try again. These wooden puzzles are, for me, the goldilocks of playfulness, mindfulness, a sense of accomplishment when pieces fit together, and restfulness. Not too hard, not too easy, just enough to keep me right here, right now--and with the wonderful result of it all coming together in the end. When you feel like you have had enough of life, when you feel confused or overwhelmed, take a step away from your day-to-day world and give a puzzle a try. You might find yourself looking at your world a little differently.
