Are you a deep thinker or maybe an over-thinker and finding yourself stuck? Maybe you think that you should be able to "figure this out"–this relationship problem, personal loss, life transition, fear–if you keep trying but instead just find yourself exhausted, overwhelmed, and questioning everything.
Slow down, take a breath.
Let's be curious.
Let's explore who you are, where you are, what you want, and what's in the way. Let's figure out the values, patterns, and stories that are defining your life and identify solutions and skills that move you toward feeling comfortable in your own skin and connecting with others.

I integrate a number of approaches and theories (Psychodynamic, Relational Life Therapy, Family Systems Theory, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Motivational Interviewing) and a lot of creativity in my work with clients. I love first connecting with clients to understand their experience and context and then translating theories of relational systems, healing, and change into a "language" that resonates most with them.
I help clients develop the skills and being of awareness, curiosity, creativity, flexibility, effective communication, relationality, courage, data-gathering, and creative problem solving (and maybe a few more). I introduce the arts and client interests (e.g., music, art, poetry, videos etc.) to support therapy work.
In other words, you know your world and what makes sense to you.
My job is to see and understand you; help you see yourself and your context more clearly and comfortably; and find different avenues and ways of thinking and doing that make sense to you.
My particular area of interest and practice is complex/developmental trauma.
Other areas of practice:
Addiction recovery
Anxiety
Depression

Prior to my work as a psychotherapist, I worked as an editor for an educational publisher and in administrative leadership positions in higher ed and non-profit organizations.
Activities I enjoy most engage my curiosity and creativity. I read a lot (books are articles are everywhere). My love of literature and memoir is a love of understanding people, their stories, and their "internal logic." I love art, crafts, film, and music as they are different ways of telling stories, exploring ideas, and experimenting. Learning to play music with others helped me learn to listen closely to what others are doing and join in to create smothing bigger than the sum of the parts.
I work with individuals (18+) and couples via teletherapy.
